On 9 October 2025, Dr Stipe Ledić took part in the scholarly conference Oporuke kao izvor za povijest kontinentalne Hrvatske [Wills as Sources for the History of Continental Croatia], held in Slavonski Brod and organised by the Croatian Institute of History – Unit for the History of Slavonia, Syrmia, and Baranya. He presented a paper titled Oporuka zagrebačkog biskupa Maksimilijana Vrhovca [The Will of Zagreb Bishop Maksimilijan Vrhovac].
The presentation analysed all aspects of Vrhovac’s will and codicil, along with related documents. Bishop Maksimilijan Vrhovac headed the Diocese of Zagreb from 1787 to 1827. Despite extensive research on his life and work, significant archival material remains underexplored — notably his will (Testamentum Maximiliani Vrhovec 1827, NAZ, Protocol no. 846*), a 129-page bound manuscript bearing the seal of the Zagreb Chapter. Additional fonds in the Archdiocesan Archives in Zagreb (Nadbiskupijski arhiv u Zagrebu, NAZ) and the State Archives in Zagreb (Državni arhiv u Zagrebu, DAZG) contain further documentation concerning the execution of his will, some of which were discussed in the paper.
The abstracts booklet in Croatian is available here.
During his stay in Slavonia, Dr Ledić also carried out research at the Požega City Museum, focusing on the Janković Family Collection. His goal was to identify possible correspondence between Josip Keresturi (1739–1794), a court agent, and Count Antun Janković (1729–1789), Grand Župan of Požega (later Srijem) County, who are known to have collaborated. Although the correspondence was not found, other documents (GMP – POV 566 – Janković Family Collection-1) were examined, shedding light on Antun Janković’s political and economic activities. Additionally, Box 6 of the same collection, containing material from the Adamović Čepinski family estate, was reviewed. However, no letters between Josip Keresturi and Ivan Kapistran Adamović Čepinski were found, despite their known political and familial ties.
